Bogdan Achimescu was born in Timisoara (Romania) in 1965. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj (1985-90) and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1990-93). Now he works at the Faculty of Intermedia of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He completed his doctoral dissertation in 2008. And he lectures trensmedia there. He deals with prints, digital prints, installations, video and environment. He was given scholarships and artistic stays in: Germany (1994, 1999), USA (1995-96), Sitzerland (1995-96), Ireland (1998, 2001-2002), France (1999), Mongolia (2004), Taiwan (2004). He also worked as a visiting professor at the Wisconsin University (Tuscon, 2000-2002), the Virginia University (Charlottenville, 2000, 2002-2004), the State University in Utah (2005). His works were shown on the individual exhibitions in Poland, Ireland, Italy, USA and Switzerland. In 1992 he was awarded with Grand Prix of the Print Triennial in Biella (Italy). He took part in the Context Network project which represented the Romanian Pavilion at the Art Biennial in Venice in 2001.
The artist had two individual exhibitions in Jan Fejkiel Gallery so far.
