Anna Sobol-Wejman

Anna Sobol-Wejman born in 1946. She studied at the Print Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 1985 she ran print workshops at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rejkjavik ( Island). Her works were shown on individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad and took part in a few dozen collective ones. She won Grand Prix of the III International Print Biennial in Gyor ( Hungary,1995). In 2009 she was honoured with the Witold Wojtkiewicz Award of the Union of Polish Artists and Designers for the exhibition “The Sitting Women. Conversation with S.W.” in Jan Fejkiel Gallery in Cracow. She practises metal techniques and litography.

The artist had five individual exhibitions in Jan Fejkiel Gallery so far. She also took part in collective shows organised by the gallery, i.a.:  Jan Fejkiel Gallery Collection, The Polish Institute of Culture, Stockholm 1991; Stone, Metal, Wood, Computer ,Cracow Expo Center (1994); The Element and the Method, Galerie de la C.G.E.R. (1996, Liege), Centrum Manggha (1997, Cracow); The Polish Printmakers and the French Poets, Galerie des Franciscains (1995, 1999, St.Nazaire); Mondo Cane, JFG, (2001, Cracow), The State Gallery (2002, Kielce); Beyond the Passe-Partout, New Spaces in Print, JFG (2006, Cracow);  Visible/ Invisible, Turchin Center for Visual Arts, (2012/13 Boone NC, USA).
